ATLANTA (March 5, 2024) — Tomorrow, March 6, 2024, at 9 a.m., the Senate Special Committee on Investigations, chaired by Sen. Bill Cowsert (R-Athens), will hold its second hearing. The committee aims to thoroughly investigate allegations of misconduct by the district attorney for Fulton County, Fani Willis.

The meeting, scheduled to take place at the Georgia State Capitol, Room 450, will include sworn testimony from witness Ashleigh Merchant and the production of documents pursuant to a subpoena. According to a media advisory, members of the press are invited to confirm their attendance in advance by contacting Sam White at the Senate Press Office.

Sen. Bill Cowsert, representing the 46th Senate District, emphasized the importance of the committee's work, stating, "The committee’s goal is to thoroughly investigate the allegations of misconduct by the district attorney for Fulton County, Fani Willis, relating to potential conflicts of interest and misuse of public funds, to enact new or amend existing laws and/or change state appropriations to restore public confidence in the criminal justice system."
