Four weeks have passed in the 2024 Legislative Session, and Senator Frank Ginn (R–Athens) reflects on the progress made by the state legislature. While acknowledging the achievements, Senator Ginn emphasizes that there is still a substantial workload ahead that will impact both Georgians and the constituents of the 47th District.

One of Senator Ginn's notable contributions during this period was the presentation of Senate Bill 435, known as the "Infrastructure and Community Development Act." This bill, which promotes community development statewide, quickly made its way to the Senate Committee on Regulated Industries and Utilities. Senator Ginn expresses his confidence in the bill, highlighting its bipartisan support and his eagerness to further advance infrastructure initiatives throughout the state.

Additionally, Senator Ginn introduced Senate Resolution 533, a piece of legislation that addresses crucial concerns related to community development, economic growth, and local governance. This resolution empowers citizens to actively participate in legislative efforts that shape the future of their communities and the state.

During the fourth week of the session, Senator Ginn had the honor of joining Governor Brian P. Kemp and fellow members of the Georgia General Assembly for the signing of House Bill 30. This legislation, championed by President Pro Tempore John F. Kennedy, provides essential protections for Georgia's Jewish community. By officially defining antisemitism for purposes including hate crime prosecution and discrimination cases, this bipartisan effort demonstrates the state's unwavering support for its Jewish population.

Expressing his excitement and pride, Senator Ginn says, "After three years of dedicated work, it is time for Georgians to celebrate this landmark legislative victory."

Looking ahead, Senator Ginn is optimistic about the progress that will be made in the coming weeks. With legislation in committee and prepared for a vote on the Senate floor, he is confident that the 47th Senate District will continue to benefit from the hard work of the legislative body.

Senator Ginn also takes a moment to express his gratitude to the Jackson County Leadership Group for their visit to the Capitol. He acknowledges all 24 group members in the Senate chamber, emphasizing the importance of recognizing the state's future leaders.

In line with this sentiment, Senator Ginn extends an invitation to students between the ages of 12 and 18 to serve as a Capitol Page. He encourages interested students who want to experience the legislative process firsthand to apply for the program using the provided link.

Senator Ginn concludes by assuring constituents that his office is always available to address any legislative matters. He looks forward to assisting them as the 2024 Legislative Session progresses.
